General Historical Discussion Empty General Historical Discussion

Post by derpingtonpryce Wed 8 Jan - 15:15

This topic is for discussing anything from weapons to historical characters.

I'll start off by asking how balance will be kept between factions using muzzle loading rifles and factions using breech loading ones?

I believe muzzle loaders were much cheaper than breech loaders.  Maybe more units for muzzle loaders per party?

Actually, It'd be interesting if this mod was not balanced.  There are so many mods which aim to make every faction balanced with the last, but it'd be nice to have the challenge of rising to power as a small nation with a poor military.

If this mod did end up sticking to historical accuracy (which it probably should) Austria would get wiped off the map. That is unless the mod is changed from 1860 AD to 1870 AD...

Also regarding having muzzle loaders and breech loaders in every army (for example giving elite troops breech loaders) would be too unrealistic, by this time armies had already standardized weaponry for the entire army.

In 1870 there is no more French Empire ... and Napoleon was a really big Figur of Industrial Revolution for France and little country around.

I just find it for hairs and bear ^^

Ah so you're more a fan of the French Empire than the German Empire?

It's just a cool idea to think that some countries will obviously lose battles due to technological differences.
